Rohil Binge

Rohil Bhinge, with the help of his family and friends, has collected more than $4,500 for the Fairfax County Park Foundation by organizing three annual fun runs.  Rohil was inspired to organize the fun runs to raise money to complete the development of Chessie’s BIG Backyard project, a community playground designed for children and adults with disabilities to play together.  In addition, Rohil has organized food drives in his neighborhood during the last three Halloweens by distributing flyers for a campaign called, Hunger is Scary.

Rohil has received many awards for his community service, including the Gold Level Presidential Volunteer Service award (for 100+ hours of volunteering in school and neighborhood), the 2015 Carson Scholar award, and the title of Lord Fairfax in 2014 for his fundraising efforts for a fully accessible park.

Rohil is a seventh grader at Nysmith School in Herndon, Virginia.  In his free time, he enjoys running and participating in the National Geography Bee.
