Race for Every Child 2016

Our Mission

As the only health system designed for kids in the Washington metropolitan area, we believe every child should be cared for by professionals who have devoted their career to children’s medicine. At Children’s National Health System, we are dedicated to providing the best pediatric care for our patients, families, and community.

Serving the nation’s children for more than 145 years, we are a proven leader in the development and application of innovative new treatments for childhood illness and injury. Our internationally recognized team of pediatric healthcare professionals treats more than 300,000 patients each year who come from throughout the region, nation and world. As a top 10 children’s hospital, Children’s National brings together collective expertise and a shared purpose to help make families stronger. Children are cared for by the best, most dedicated experts in the region. Not only is Children’s National ranked best of the best by U.S. News & World Report, but our nurses are nationally recognized for their experience, skill, and dedication to children.

Our vision for the future is becoming more focused on helping kids avoid getting sick in the first place. At Children’s National, we don’t just want kids to grow up. We want them to grow up stronger.

Our Race Mission

The Race for Every Child is a fun event with a serious purpose — to bring the Washington metropolitan community together to encourage children’s health and wellness and to raise much-needed funds that help Children’s National ensure that every child can benefit from world-class medical care. The race has three focus areas:

Fundraising

The Race for Every Child raises funds to help every child reach his or her full potential. Revenue from the race directly supports therapies, research, advocacy, wellness and education programs, and family support.

Community Engagement

The Race for Every Child is more than a 5K run and walk. It’s a community event that brings together families, community leaders, partners, and sponsors to support a common vision – to help children grow up stronger.

Fitness and Wellness

The 5K walk and run, and the Kids’ Dash, give every family member a chance to start the day focusing on fitness, wellness, and health. We provide activities and information for people of all ages and backgrounds.
